Company
Overview
Systematic Solutions,
Inc. (SSI) has designed, developed and implemented energy, environmental
and macroeconomic models for national and regional policies since 1985
including ENERGY 2020. The company has
performed forecasting, simulation, and policy analysis in over 30 states and
provinces in North America and for governments and
energy companies in nearly a dozen countries.
Its models focus on the behavior aspects of consumers, decision-makers,
and suppliers as well as the conventional financial and physical aspects.
SSI has performed multiple analyses for energy companies
related to electricity deregulation and restructuring, electricity prices, load
forecasting, capacity expansion, and market power. It has provided lectures, workshop, and
training on deregulation in the electric industry in the US,
Europe, and South America.
SSI has developed all-fuel energy and emissions plans for
the US EPA, the government of Canada,
US state
governments, and Canadian provinces.
This work is largely accomplished with the use of ENERGY
2020, which includes full greenhouse gas (GHG) and criteria air contaminants
(CAC) emission accounting. In the late
1990’s SSI was part of a team which provided the impact, cost, energy and
emission analyses for the AMG effort and the Federal Plan leading to the
Canadian Ratification of the Kyoto Accord.
Earlier and follow up work with Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ontario,
Alberta, and the Canadian Atlantic Provinces analyzed emission-control costs
and impacts. SSI currently provides the
GHG and CAC emissions policy analysis and analytic support for Environment
Canada, the Western Climate Initiative, the California Air Resources Board,
Canada National Energy Board, and Bonneville Power Administration.
