JEFF AMLIN

Jeff Amlin is the President of Systematic Solutions, Inc., has over 30 years of designing economic and energy market models, and is an original architect of ENERGY 2020.  He has performed forecasting, simulation, and policy analysis in over 30 states and provinces in North America and governments and energy companies in a dozen countries. He is currently working on customizing ENERGY 2020 to simulate existing and proposed Canadian energy and environmental policies, including greenhouse gas emissions and carbon trading programs. Jeff Amlin received his Master’s degree from Dartmouth College and has an additional degree in Systems Analysis.

RANDY LEVESQUE

Vice President

Randy Levesque is the Vice President of Systematic Solutions, Inc. and has worked with ENERGY 2020 for over 20 years.  Randy has a background in the electric utility industry, and her current role includes client interface, project management, writing documentation and reports, as well as designing and conducting ENERGY 2020 training for clients and SSI staff.  Randy earned her master’s degree in Statistical Quality Management and Productivity from the University of Iowa and her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Beloit College in Wisconsin.

BEN AMLIN

Coding Director

Ben Amlin joined SSI in 2006 and is in charge of enhancements to ENERGY 2020’s system performance.  Ben writes and maintains all programs that interface with ENERGY 2020, including reading input data, writing output from the model, and linking to a third party macroeconomic model.  Ben received his degree in Management Information Systems Science from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.

IAN BEITENHAUS

Economist

Ian Beitenhaus joined SSI in 2010, and he has been focused on enhancing the quality of ENERGY 2020’s input data, developing new outputs to assist users in interpreting the results, and troubleshooting issues raised by SSI clients. Ian specializes in the transportation and macroeconomic sectors of ENERGY 2020 and provides client support in those areas. He has a Master’s degree in Applied and Social Economics.

PATSY MERCURI

Operations Manager

Patsy Mercuri has worked for SSI for over ten years and provides administrative support as SSI’s Operations Manager. Patsy maintains accounts payables and receivables, Systems Administration and is the client interface for contracts and maintenance of SSI’s security requirements.

LUKE DAVULIS

Simulation Modeler

Luke Davulis specializes in the oil and gas modules within ENERGY 2020. He is responsible for preparing and evaluating client forecasts and policy scenarios and providing support for clients in model development, operations, parameterization, data input, and policy analysis. Luke has a Master’s degree in Statistics.

Tom Harger is a Senior Analyst for SSI and has been developing data and analyzing energy forecasts and policy scenarios using ENERGY 2020 for over twenty-five years. Tom provides client support for writing Promula code to customize output files. He is also responsible for model maintenance. His degree is in Management Science from Wright State University.

PETER VOLKMAR
 

Lead Energy Modeler

Peter Volkmar is the Lead Energy Modeler of Systematic Solutions, Inc. He wrote his PhD dissertation on OPEC bargaining, oil pricing, and international electrification efforts.  He has reported on business and economics during the Arab Spring in Egypt and worked in business intelligence, microfinance, and international arbitration.  Peter Volkmar received his PhD in Energy Economics and Master’s degree in Statistics from Rice University and his Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Religious Studies from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
